Failure to start Virtual Console
#1
Question
I tried starting a Virtual Console by pressing CRTL+ALT+F1. It gave me the following messages:

Code:
Code:
Starting smbd.service - Samba SMB Daemon...

[  OK  ] Finished plymouth-quit-wait.service - Hold until boot process finishes up.

[FAILED] Failed to start casper-md5check.service - casper-md5check Verify Live ISO checksums.

Then it was just hanging and I had to hard restart.

I asked Linux Lite AI for advice and it told me to do the same thing. What can I do differently to access the non-graphical environment?

Try Ctrl Alt F2 to get a text based log on.

Alt F7 to get back to the GUI.
Alt F7 might also work to get you back when you tried Ctrl Alt F1 rather than restarting.
