Changes:

Lite A.I. Support:
Linux Lite is leading the way in which A.I. is complementing the Support portion of our operating system.
We're extremely happy with the way that it's turned out and a huge thank you again to Huzaifa Qureshi for his efforts on this.

Lite Updates - Re-written in Yad

Lite Updates has been re-written in Yad as Yad provides more flexibility than Zenity and will help us to expand and add more options to it in the future.

Lite Theme Manager:

Brand new to the Linux Lite family of Applications is Lite Theme Manager.
Lite Theme Manager takes the guess work out of adding themes to your desktop, icons and mouse cursors with an easy point-and-click solution.
Thank you and credit goes to Huzaifa Qureshi for writing this application.

How do I know if my Windows PC has UEFI?

In Windows Search, type msinfo or msinfo32 and launch the desktop app named System Information. Look for the BIOS Mode item, and if the value for it is UEFI, then you have the UEFI firmware. If it says BIOS Mode Legacy, then that’s the firmware you’re running.

Secure Boot is supported, but unless you know exactly how to handle it, it is a P.I.T.A. at best so I am going to say...you must disable Secure Boot to enable stress free computing.

Some helpful snippets from the latest Help Manual:

Please enter them into this thread. Thank you.

Upgrading:

> Menu, Favorites, Install Updates (you must reboot if asked to, otherwise continue to the next step)
> Set a Restore Point - Menu, System, Timeshift
> Menu, Settings, Lite Upgrade
> Reboot

Having problems upgrading?

First thing to do is open a terminal, and make sure you have the latest version of Lite Upgrade.

Code:
apt policy lite-upgrade-series7

should return:

Code:
  Installed: 7.0-0020-linuxlite
  Candidate: 7.0-0020-linuxlite

If you've ran Install Updates and still don't have this version or greater you can either - wait 24 hours, or change to the default Linux Lite repository in Lite Sources.

There is no upgrade path from RC to Final or from Series to Series.

Huge thank you to our Sponsor:

In linux to find out the letter of your usb stick, open a terminal and type: df -h It is usually listed as 'media' or similar. 1) This hasn't happened to me since the 3.0 series; but if you are running a modified version of Lite Widget like I do, the recent Lite Widget update for the 7.0 series will wipe out your modified file and restore the Lite Widget file to default. If you have a modified Lite Widget file it's best to keep a backup or run a .conkyrc file instead, as I don't know if future updates will continue with this behavior.

2) If you run the LibreWolf browser LibreOffice will not choose it for previews, and the new Lite Theme application will not load it to look for online themes.

3) The Lite Updates application will not display available updates if you use the Materia-dark theme in the 7 series.

Otherwise upgrade to 7.2 is quick and simple as usual, and I realize my case uses are unusual and should only be take as a heads up.
