Thanks everyone involved for a great distro.

Testing Linux Lite for a non-profit homeless shelter. This distro fits the bill nicely, stable, fast, user friendly.  Well done to everyone involved.

Also, just for fun, I made a new dir under /usr/share/backgrounds/ named "feather". Copied into it the three feather backgrounds,  Linux-Lite-Red.png, Linux-Lite-Green.png, and Linux-Lite-Slopes.png (not called yellow???). Set background to this new dir, Change the background - 5 seconds, random.

All that appears to change is the color of the feather.  Smile

Thanks again,

Nice! 8bit

No better way to help than give back to the community.
I do the same every week in an Help Center. Nothing cooler then seeing a family get a fully working (and fast) computer they never though they could afford. Wink

Keep up the good work! This goes for the Linux Lite Team too of course!

I tried this, but it always changes the dir from feather back to xfce
when I close desktop settings.

How did you get the dir to stay feather instead of going back to xfce ?

I didn't have to do anything. Possible things to check/try:

1) dir was created as root, as was the file copy
2) after selecting the feather dir in drop-down box, click "open", necessary to select one of the images before clicking "close", or I get a blank screen
3) send me the computer so I can play with it for a while  Smile

I wish I could be more helpful.

Ok, I got it working; I wasn't selecting one of the images before
closing Desktop settings.

Great. What do you think of the effect, was it worth it?

Interesting effect.

To build on that, you could possibly download images that are only slightly different
from each other to have a motion effect. Kind of like how early cartoons were made by
drawing pictures, each one slightly different, then flipping thru them for motion effect.
