to 64 bit from 32 bit
#1
Hello people.
I have 32 bit LL installed, and I want to pass it to 64 bit. Since, I realized that my pc supports 64 bit.
I wanted to know how to go from 32 to 64.

Hello, lucasfava! It's easy - download the 64-bit version and make a fresh install of it.

Isn't it up to you to decide?  Big Grin  If you're brave and patient enough (I hope, you've read about the issues with LL 4.0 Fatal Final already), then go ahead! But isn't it wise to test the new distro from live-USB first or to keep your prior distro version just in case? It's only up to you to decide what to do as I don't want to become responsible for any possible problems.  8)

No need for derogatory comments like that 'Fatal'. If it's bad enough for you to label it that way, use another OS, simple.

Sorry for my using the synonym for the word 'final', sorry for the play on words, sorry for the fact that I see more meanings in words than others do, sorry for my (critical) feedback, sorry for my criticizing bugs in your new distribution, sorry for my misunderstanding your concept of a 'proper' distribution, sorry for not using your 'operating system' any longer (I am using a different distro now), sorry for my sincerity, sorry that I am here...

You can ban me if you wish, I don't care... Good luck!

Why would I ban you? You can give critical feedback, slandering an OS is a completely different story.

Hi,

Save your data from the old installation to some removable media.
Then install a fresh 64bit 4.0 Lite over that old one and finally restore
the data back (if you had any documents or such)
