How do I change my user picture on the login screen?
#1
Just a quick question, I have been looking everywhere, and found absolutely nothing in the settings that gives me the option, and looking it up, I found nothing on how to do it.

How do I change my user picture?

Find or create a 96x96 png file in gimp.
Name it .face
That's just  .face not .face.png and not imagename.face
And finally move that file to your home directory /home/user_name
Here is how that looks in my virtual machine

Hello!

LL 1.0.8 had an option of several different login 'face' icons to choose from in the installer. I guess that was changed to save space.
Some distros even let you use your webcam to take a selfie for the 'face' picture.

Perhaps 'faces' can return in LL 2.2. Additionally, to be able to pull up an on-screen keyboard in 2.2 at login, a la Windows 8.1, would be REALLY nice...

Hello!

I clicked on your link, and answered you there.

I now seem to have more perplexing issues - like extreme sluggishness in reloading the forums after I reply when I use Firefox (in Chrome, all is well). Logging out seems to take F-O-R-E-V-E-R - up to a minute or more for the logout screen to finally appear!

Perhaps I have a bum install on my hands here, as I have noticed other 'quirks' such as notification icons disappearing, and mouse pointer issues that required a change of theme to correct...
