Moving Servers
#1
So as some will know already, we are out-growing our web server. A new one will be provisioned and setup hopefully within the next 48 hours. We'll get twice the CPU cores and double the space for nearly half the price of the old one. So if you are online and try to access any of our web service like these Forums for example, there may be some downtime (very little I hope).

Thanks everyone. Smile

God speed, Jerry!
I like the "half the price" mention! Sounds great!

Server move complete. Apologies for any down time. If you'd like to donate towards the move, please visit here - https://www.linuxliteos.com/donate.html
Unfortunately, Avatars are missing so you will have to re-upload one. I'll add some features to Profiles so that we can share computer information with others.
Thank you!

Given the ugliness of the task, I guess we can all agree that we can go beyond that. It's done! That is what matters in the end.

Got that! Compared to restoring a DB, that is nothing.

I was going to ask for that! Very glad to hear that!
There are many people here that use old and very old computers (me, among others) that will be happy to see what kind of machine is running what.
Unfortunately, I'm very much aware of the fact that some people would like to stick to a previous, older version. Again unfortunately, that is impossible.
On the bright side though, if people show on their profile the gear they use, it will be a good thing for them to know that the latest Linux Lite (7.0 for now...) runs OK on a certain type of configuration.
It's the main reason I added my ASUS X200MA in the signature.

Thanks again, Jerry!

Update:

I checked the Avatar. I suppose it's a matter of size/format because mine works fine.
If someone needs some help, just post a message with a title related to avatar upload.
There are restrictions regarding the size of the file and also the format (.png, .jpg, etc.).
I forgot the exact values.
