Install Updates 5.8 - Failed to install - Skipping files
#1
Hi
Problem updating LL 5.8. Initially had some IP errors so tried different mirror source using Lite Sources.
However, now appears to be some sort of file configuration error causing files to be skipped.

A similar problem seems to have been experienced in Linux Mint here https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=364575
Appears to have been solved on Linux Mint by Software Sources>Maintenance> Fix MergeList problems, however can't find any equivalent to "Fix Mergelist problems" option within Linux Lite Software & Updates app.

Is that the complete log ?

The W: messages are warnings which might not be too serious for the time being
The E: messages are errors which are stopping the update completing.

To try to fix the errors open a terminal and enter the following (and your password when asked for)

Code:
sudo apt-get --allow-releaseinfo-change update

Then try updating again.

Yes that was the complete log.
