Yep, and I'm jealous, older processors have 1,2,4 or 6 threads. 8 for Intel i7.

Thanks for the response. My hardware is always old as I build then hold off until I have to get something else. I had just not seen anything give more CPU's like that even though they are threads. I was assuming they were threads but I thought I should just make sure as you know what it is to assume. I am hoping this build lasts as long as the others I have done.

But as Desktops at some point require all that power - the old stuff just wont be able to keep up..
I remember when Dual Core was the hottest - now I'm like Quad for the minimum... In the future, we'll be like remember when PC's were 64 core, I just gotta have 1024 cores or nothing....

They pretty much arrived at maximum frequencies 4-5GHz for clock speeds on current transistor technology.Now is moving to lateral expansion.
