Won't suspend if system is set to lock on suspend
#11
It doesn't affect my partners laptop Linux Lite 3.2 64Bit default settings in this area.
On suspend everything stops straight away including fan.

When lid is closed only the tiny moon icon remains lit on lid as it is meant to.

When lid is reopened it wakes up and displays the login box, just as with regular version of login box you enter the password, login is there by default, press enter and it is at desktop.

I notice in several threads for this on the forum it seems that it solved for some members after updates, Menu>Favorites>Install Updates so it is worth checking these if they have not been done since the problem began.

You are correct [member=8059]Riley Davies[/member] there was a bug identified for this -

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...ug/1574120
It works now!  ;D The solution (I think) was installing the updates. It must have been a recent fix because I had already tried that many times before and it didn't help, but I followed your suggestion anyways and checked for more updates and installed them, and hey what do you know it worked. (I wonder what the update changed...)
Thanks for everyone's help! Both the Linux Lite OS and community is great  Big Grin

Have you tried any more recent updates than earlier [member=6906]nikki1066[/member] ?
Is this spacing okay for you to follow?

You can try this way -

Hold down Ctrl key and Alt key and press t (Ctrl, Alt t) to open your terminal.

Copy/paste or type -
Code:
sudo apt-get update

press enter
type your password when requested and press enter.

After this completes then copy/paste or type -
Code:
sudo apt-get upgrade

press enter

when it completes copy/paste or type
Code:
exit

to close your terminal.

Try suspend now

Thank you so much for this. I am very grateful to you.

I typed the info into the terminal as the updates did not come through to my laptop. It works perfectly now.
