Anyone had any luck getting the Oxygen mouse/cursor theme to work correctly?
It's almost like half of it's missing as with some functions like resize & drag it switches back to the default.
On a restart during the login process when it's showing busy it switches between Oxygen & default, then when on the desktop it's back to default.
Open Firefox or Thunderbird etc. & it's Oxygen inside their window area but default down on the panel & desktop area outside their windows.
DMZ's & several others I've tried all behave as expected but any in the Oxygen series don't work correcty.
Never had that happen on 2.8
Installed it & the extra colours via Synaptic, tried completely removing, reinstalling etc...

I have now installed LL 3.0 on three different machines, tow laptops and one PC.

I installed on the first, did all my personal tweaks such as themes, installing control centre and slimjet etc,  and used Systemback to make a Live USB.

I have then been able to install a clone of my system with all my preferences on the other two computers.

I have never had less trouble installing nor less hassle after since there was no tweaking to do.

First rate system which is now my main one ;D

When viewing video files in both VLC & SMPlayer now it appears the default behaviour has changed when opening another file in the 'choose file' menu from the same folder.
Can no longer select the next file from the menu with the keyboard.
Previously with LL 2.8 & earlier, if one file had finished Ctrl+O would open the menu & the previously played file would be highlighted, could use the down or up arrows to move the selection to the desired file then hit Enter & it'd start.
Now it does nothing in SMPlayer & only toggles between previously played files in the same session/folder with VLC, can't move it to the next file in the menu to start it playing, it has to be clicked with the cursor.

Is there a way around this or a way to set it how it was with 2.8?

Still having mouse cursor theme issues, no matter what theme is set, it always returns to the default theme on a restart.
Not sure what's triggered it as I only changed from the default mouse cursor theme a few days ago & since then it always goes back to the default.
When starting up, after I enter my password & the splash comes up, set to Simple with sans bold 12 font, it'll show the default busy cursor for a second or two, then it'll switch to the busy cursor of the theme I have set for about a second, then it switches back to the default & stays there, all the pointers are then at default until I go into settings & click to change it away from the theme I've chosen, then click the desired theme again.
When I open Menu > Settings > Mouse & Touchpad > Theme it always has the one I've chosen previously highlighted but it's displaying the default theme's cursors instead.
Clicking another theme it instantly changes to the new one & will stay on that theme all working properly until the next reboot when it misbehaves again.

Fresh install cured the mouse cursor issue, I have no idea what triggered it in the first place, something I installed must have messed with things I guess.

Found a sort-of workaround for the selection of the next file with the keyboard in the media player's 'choose menu'.
Ctrl+O brings up the menu, it now has a 'Filename:' text box, type the first letter (case sensitive) of the filename sequence & it expands and can be navigated up/down with the keyboard arrows.
So if all the files are named Holiday-1, Holiday-2, Holiday-3 etc. etc., hit Shift+H on the keyboard then use the up/down arrows to scroll, or if the files start with a number or lowercase letter just hit the number or lowercase letter on the keyboard.
If files in the folder are named differently like Holiday-1, Holiday-2, Overseas-1, Overseas-2 etc. then only the ones that start with H can be scrolled through until the first letter of the different filenames is entered in the text box.
Which means if there's many different filenames in a folder a lot of extra keystrokes are required just to open them from the keyboard instead of simply hitting once the down-arrow after one file has completed to view the next.

Seems this is becoming standard as I noticed it with Mint 17.3 KDE version also.
Not sure what the logic behind making that change is, I can't find anything in any release notes about it anywhere, but it seems to me that a changing of something that worked fine & was easy to use into something that now involves either clicking with the mouse or a lot more extra steps via a keyboard is a step in the wrong direction.

Any interface or interaction changes from 2.8 - 3.0 are not done by us unless we specify that in the Release Announcement. It's more than likely software that has not been coded by us eg. XFCE.

Thanks Jerry,
Yeah I understand it's not an LL thing, just having a grizzle I guess  ;D
I found that simple, user friendly function very useful when using a lot of media files, and I know others did too as I've been hearing a few opinions on it.
I've searched through all release notes I can find & didn't see anything of relevance though it might be named or referred to as something I don't understand.
It's possible there's some better future implimentation planned that those changes are required as a part of, time will tell I guess.

File manager preferences on the advanced tab under Folder Permissions, the setting Apply to Folder and Contents doesn't seem to work.
Copy some folders with files inside from a cd or dvd, once copying has finished right click on one & go Properties > Permissions change all to Read and Write, click close, open the folder and the contents are still read-only & must also be changed manually.
The file manager preferences window cannot be minimised out of the way but is also tied to the window being shown or hidden, same behaviour as the copy files progress box.

Theres no urgency for me to get into Snap packages. It's still too early and there are security concerns around this approach. I'll be watching closely.
