Linux Lite 2.0 Beta Released
#41
Can I install updates in a Live DVD? I never thought to do that if it wasn't installed to the HD!
I'll try it out. Thanks for the reply.

Installing them won't work but checking for them does. After you have done that you can check Install Drivers.

Just to put my finds in too re video drivers.  After over a week of updating LL2.0 I myself still have no additional drivers listed for my Radeon HD 4200. So for myself running updates doesn't appear to help with wyldekey's problem.  Other than that this new OS is amazing.

There is no driver for the Radeon HD 4200, it's a legacy chipset. The open source driver that is already installed will work fine for you.

Yeah forgot to put that.  The OS driver works amazingly well and the display is so crisp and bright.  Better than windoze looks on same laptop!!  Great work Valtam.

2. Is there a fix in 2.0 for the "Locale Change" issue...
Changing the locale to "English UK" causes the main menu items names for "Install Updates" & "Help Manual" to change.?

Many Thanks
Dave

We can't test all locales, try a test run install in a virtualbox first to find out.

Hi Valtam,

Will try this weekend if I get a chance.

Hi Valtam,

Sorry for long delay... A distraction called "Work" gave me no time for anything recently.

I have done an install of LL 2.0 Beta.
The issue with changing the Locale(Language Support) to English UK and it affecting the the Menu items for Install Updates & Help does not occur.

To confirm I followed exactly the steps I used in 1.0.8
Menu > Settings > Language Support
then on:
Language Tab: Dragged "English UK" to top, apply system wide
Regional Formats: selected "English UK", apply system wide

restarted and checked Menu, Install Updates and Help are not re-named.

Thanks for LL 2.0

Dave

No problem...
If there are other items for LL 2.0 Beta to report,
should they go here, or under install in the Software forum.. noting it's for LL 2.0 Beta??
Currently have only 1 minor thing.
