Hi Chris,
When I used Clonezilla I followed the excellent step-by-step directions from this page
http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live-doc.php
Last and most important step. After you clone the drive test it. If it doesn't work you still have the original so no harm done.
Quote:I would like to clone my primary hard drive onto a larger drive (which I will then use as my primary). I don't want to back-up so I can restore later. Will Clonzilla clone in this manner a full working drive? It's been a while since I last did any imaging but I'm fairly certain CloneZilla will do what you need. According to the website: The destination partition must be equal or larger than the source one. So in your case hard drive source and destination won't be an issue.
Quote:Boot loader, including grub (version 1 and version 2) and syslinux, could be reinstalled.I've never used this option but I think it's just that, an option. I don't think it will apply for what you're doing.
