Cloning drives

Hi Chris,

I would like to clone my primary hard drive onto a larger drive (which I will then use as my primary). I don't want to back-up so I can restore later.  Will Clonzilla clone in this manner a full working drive?

It's been a while since I last did any imaging but I'm fairly certain CloneZilla will do what you need. According to the website: The destination partition must be equal or larger than the source one. So in your case hard drive source and destination won't be an issue.

Boot loader, including grub (version 1 and version 2) and syslinux, could be reinstalled.

I've never used this option but I think it's just that, an option. I don't think it will apply for what you're doing.

Last and most important step. After you clone the drive test it. If it doesn't work you still have the original so no harm done.
