Hi Trinidad. You speak the truth. This is one of my first concern. and I have many :-)
- the deployment of AD user rights which should be the less complicated
- the selection of AD global policies that make sense in a cross platform environment (not only MS oriented) and how to distribute or mimic them for LL workstations
- the definition of addtional linux oriented policies. And how to deploy them if possible using the same method as for the cross-platform policies deploy
- How to deal with HDMI and more genrally how to deal with hardware restictions that sometimes impact linux
- How to deal with the lifecycle of hardware related to the lifecycle of the kernel and the lifecycle of specific business applications that run the poduction
- the definition of a cross-platform application catalog for both OS for some applications or business
- the method for creating the LL master wich implies to develop an orchestration sequencer alowing to configure a LL core system and integrate it to the domain and connect it to the needed services/infrastructure, before software deploy
- the software deploy using a crossplatform management suite (LanDesk-like or OCS/GLPI or whatever) as newer version of SCCM do not manage linux anymore
- The question of local security: implementing Palo Alto IDS / AV or no AV / Local IP filtering or Not /
- How to deal with Editor's support
- Can Wine be seriously considered as an acceptable workaround in a production context in order to deal with obsolete software
- What is the average user acceptance limit for a new desktop ergonomy
- As I am quite sure that there is no chance that a company could or should shift from an OS to another in a big-bang mode, what are the businesses and use cases in my company where a switch to LL would be relevant or a quick win ?
