I recently revived this hp g61 that came with factory installed windows 7 (and had given a 305 error message) with Linux lite 1.0.8 and so far so good.  Smile Loving it. Can't get enough. (OK i'll stop now)
HP g61 - 327cl laptop (deceased)
N68S3B motherboard + Amd Athlon II x2 245 + 4gb ddr3
Lenovo x220 Thinkpad
F2a68hm-s1 motherboard + Amd a6 5400k apu + 8gb ddr3
