We'll stick with XFCE based applications where possible, that means keeping Thunar. For file search, I have been using Fsearch for some time myself and find it excellent. There is the potential to switch to this in Series 4.x I'd encourage folks to look at it and give it a go - http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2016/11/file-...ch-now-ppa The best feature is that it searches files as you type.
