Intermittant wireless trackball issues

grep dmesg | (name of ball mousey) might mention something in terminal.

I keep my ball mouses in the drawer as a last resort if I run out of a laser mouse.
My Dell server on a table with wheels with linux lite uses a laser wireless mouse.
Distance in only good a few inches though.  Nothing to brag about as it is a older unit.
