Black screen after sleep. Asus EEE1025

Update

- black screen problem continues
    also after totally disabling the screensaver.

Workaround.
in Powermanager select "do nothing" when run on AC power when lid closes.
on battery power  select "suspend" (that is what I want to function normally)

So unplugged and lid closed, result black screen.

Plug AC in, black screen stays.
Close lid.
Open lid
And I do have my screen back.
