[SOLVED] Cannot Boot After Update

I'm using V.2.2, 32-bit on a Dell Optiplex GX520 with an Intel videocard. A few minutes ago I installed updates as instructed by the Muon updater. After that, Linux-Lite wouldn't boot completely: I get to the point where the screen blanks and I should get the pointer, followed by the desktop. All I get is a blank screen.
Is there a fix, or did I do something wrong? Linux-Lite is a fast, efficient system, and I'd like to continue using it.

How did you get the "Muon updater" (normally for the KDE desktop environment) on the computer?

Updates should only be done through the "Install Updates" selection in the Menu.  3rd party auto-updaters should not be used because they may pull in things that normally would not be included as updates to LL.  Have a feeling that's what just happened and it may be extremely difficult to track down what broke booting.  If you're lucky, fixing grub with recommended program by Wirezfree will work; but there may be more going on than just a simple grub fix.

Before attempting any fix, boot with live LL DVD/USB, mount the root partition of your installed system, navigate to /var/log/apt/ directory and copy the history.log file to a USB stick.  Then, go ahead an try SuperGrubDisk first and see what happens.  If it doesn't fix problem, attach the history.log file to your next post.  We'll take a look at it for possible clues as to what might have been included in the update that broke your system.  No guarantee that we'll be able to spot the problem, but we'll try.  (NOTE:  if forum won't accept the file for upload, rename it to history.log.txt and try attaching it again.)
