I need to set up LL 2.0 to make it super easy for XP refugees.
How can I set the default programs specifically for replaying CDs and DVDs?
In Linux Lite I would go to Preferred Apps but in LL this doesn't contain a Removable Media section nor Music or Video categories.
As it stands clicking on DVD or CD icon on the desktop doesn't not auto play and getting a DVD to play in VLC is far too complex for our over 60s users.
Thanks

Hi Scott,
Thanks for this help Really appreciate it.
I found the Removable Drive and Media settings in Menu>Settings>Removable Drives and Media. It allowed me to set a default program but in my test box here it still didn't auto-run a DVD. Will have to try Monday when I have a range of boxes to try to ensure it's not a bad DVD drive I have here.
Will report back.
Cheers
Dave

Sometimes your device is listed in the system as sr0, may pay to check that first and set it accordingly in VLC.

Hi Valtam
Yes I have tried that but still doesn't auto-run so I may have a duff drive here. Will test Monday on a range of boxes. Thanks

Hello!
I just stuck a video DVD in, and VLC came up automatically. I clicked the Play icon in VLC, and a screen came up, I clicked on the 'Disc' folder tab, clicked the 'Play' icon inside it, and the DVD started playing. Will have to reboot to try it again...
