Introduction

Hi All:
I'm litewait and new to forum, but not LL, actually started that journey w/ 2.6. updates have always been a little buggy.  I have LL 3.4 on 5-10 machines, most very old HPs. I'm NOT comfortable using the terminal, guess that makes me goooey?
one of my desktops spit this back today it seems criptic but obviously not deadly. have encountered dpkg issues before... usually go away with a fresh install.  NEVER EVER discard your OS Disc DVD!!! AND keep your files on a thumb drive. This particular desktop is an ancient Dell===========================

Hello litewait,

Welcome to the forum Smile

I am unsure how to solve this.
There is some info to read about it here, that may/not be useful - https://askubuntu.com/questions/15433/un...er-process

Typically something else with admin rights (an app where you entered your password) is still open...
Something like your trying to update with Synaptic open...

Close apps and relaunch updates... Or log out / reboot then run updates...

Oh and welcome to the forums..
FYI - You're less likely to see this in 3.6 Smile

Update to 3.6 When you do, you're much less likely to encounter this error.
