mystery .gvfs folder
#1
An empty mystery file named .gvfs has recently showed up in my home folder.  :o

I must open it in root and it is empty. I have searched for an explanation on the internet but I am not sure what I read it means. Apparently it has something to do with the Gnome desktop. Of course, I am only using XFCE. Has it something to do with Systemback or TOR browser which I only started to use recently? The way I found it was Deja Dup say it can not back it up and still tries to copy it even after I marked it should be ignored.

What is this file? How did I get it? Is it save to delete it?  :-\

Hmmm...not sure what else I can do. The explanations and instructions are there, I would just be copying and pasting their posts. Maybe read it a few times until it makes sense Smile

Everything seems to be working so bottom line:

Should I just ignore it or delete it?

Thats up to you. I have many folders throughout my system that I don't know what they are. I ignore them. Everyone is different.

@Coastie,
Google show loads of stuff on this, going back to Ubuntu 12.04
It appears to be related to networking & mount points..??
I would just leave it alone

I read a lot of it but the more I read the more confused I got. I agree. I am just going to leave it alone and ignore when Deja Dup says it can back it up when I told it to ignore it.
