I think it's probably good for Mozilla. They have to pay the bills somehow and since the search engine can be changed to whatever you like, in the end it will probably be a non-issue for me.

TBH, I didn't even know FF had a default search engine. I've used FF since it's inception (or pretty close to it...I remember having single digit builds) and don't ever remember a "Search Engine" icon. I've always used Google and had to manually go to it.

Although I use DDG (DuckDuckGo) for private searching, I am not surprised FF switched. Google now has Chrome, a competitor of FF.
For me it makes no difference since i always change default to DDG.

I thought they should go with Duck Duck Go.
Apparently Apple looking at ditching Google from Safari next year and considering Bing or Yahoo. However, a recent survey of Apple users showed the vast majority want Google search. Apple's claim that they care about consumers but I bet they care more about their personal vendetta than their customers' best interests.

DDG would have been a better choice for us but I can see why they went with Yahoo as a revenue stream.

As stated above , either DDG or LXQuick , but it wouldn t be good for revenues .
