Help! Blue Screen Appears When Booting Up
#1
When booting up I'm getting a blue screen which says, "GNU Grub version 2.02~beta2-9". There are 4 options to choose from. At the bottom of screen it states, "Use up or down arrows to select which entry is highlighted. Press enter to boot the selected OS, 'e' to edit the commands before booting or 'c' for command line".

I selected the first option and hit "enter". It went to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner. Couldn't get off the black screen, so I shutdown. Restarted and ran the two "memtest" options and passed both tests. I did not mess with the advanced option. Would appreciate your help to resolve this problem.

Personally, I frown at beta versions (since I'm not a geek).  I take the easiest fix and reinstall (and lose some work, but i backup often)- I'm sure there is a better solution.  If no answer here, you can
try asking the geeks at Llinux Questions or Slashdot.

Just be sure to give alot of technical details or risk being flamed.

Hit the escape key or F2. It works for me to get a text booting screen. It will stop services 1st. Then proceed to load up without the feather splash screen.

If it is hanging. It will be the last message on screen.

Also. On my low powered Atom Netbook. It takes awhile for the blinking cursor to go away. If I go make a glass of koolaid and come back. It loads up just fine.
