ASUS x206HA black screen after Linux Mint install
#1
Exclamation
HELLO,
I am having an issue at the moment with an older laptop of mine. It is an ASUS x206HA with Intel Atom processor. On it i had Linux mint and decided to switch to Linux Lite. I inserted the USB ran the setup, everything seemed well and then the machine restatrts after it finished the install.
On the screen was something like remove installation USB and press enter. I did and from then the laptop does not boot. It also does not show the ASUS logo anymore, and i can't install other Linux or Windows. I create the bootable USB and when i want to move further with the install the screen stays black. Anything i do the screen is black. I tried to reset the BIOS, remove battery and connect an external monitor. Nothing, only black screen.
I can't find an answer anywhere and hope to find it here. Thank you all!  Idea  Intel Atom x5-Z8350 Intel Atom x5-Z

Hard to tell from your description but sounds like a hardware failure.

With a problem such as no OS or a disk failure you would expect the system to report something about it's status/condition - maybe even just beep codes. Failure to do anything suggests a fundamental hardware problem such as motherboard, RAM, NVRAM or power.

What do the indicator lights show when you try to boot up ?

What steps did you take to try to reset BIOS and what were the results ?

The power indicator shows a green light. As for the bios reset, i am able to enter the setup by pressing F2 and resseting from menu. Also i tried to push power button for 40 seconds and disconecting the battery.

Try the bootable USB in another system to ensure it is viable.

When you access the ASUS BIOS, what bootable devices does the system have and what is the boot priority order ?
If there is an option which specifically allows the operator to access a Boot Manager on boot up, try enabling that.
