Is this your machine?

Inspiron M5010, AMD Phenom II Triple-Core N830(2.1GHz,1.5MB,3.6GT/s), 15.6in High Definition (1366X768) WLED, Integrated 1.3 Mega Pixel Camera, Memorie: 3072MB (1x1024 + 1x2048) 1333MHz DDR3, HDD 320GB (5400RPM), ODD 8X DVD+/-RW, Baterie 6-cell 48W/HR LI-ION, Bluetooth 365, Wireless 1501 (802.11g/n), Graphics : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250

If this is, then you should be able to install Linux Lite 7.0. The CPU/GPU are supported at kernel level so it should work.
I installed Linux Lite 7.0 on old machines (Sony VAIO 2011, ASUS X200MA 2014) and it went all well.

Specific issue:
I have bought an ASUS AMD based laptop for my wife, a 2022 model.
During the setup, you need a wired LAN connection, otherwise the setup will likely fail, due to driver problems.
The Linux default kit lacks the required drivers so they need to be downloaded during the installation process.

What I recommend:

Replace the HDD with a SSD. The investment is at about 37 euro (Kingston A400, 480 GB) and it will well worth each dime!

Best regards, Șerban.

Current Machine:

Laptop:
ASUS X200MA , Intel® Celeron® N2830, 2 GB RAM, SSD Kingston A400, 480 GB.

Thanks for replying!
That is a very good configuration! It should work if you use a LAN connection during setup.

Best regards, Șerban.
