several bugs, change passwd fixed everything

Hi,

after installation I had several problems:

- password was not properly set, so it didn´t work
- screen resolution was stuck at 640x480

I accessed grub and changed there my password and at reboot everything was magically set up, even screen resolution  :o 

I find it strange and worth sharing

nice distro by the way, I´m free of Windows Vista now
