Connecting A Virtual System To A Virtual System On A LAN

Though unusual some users may be interested in VNC and RDP connections between two virtual systems over a LAN. Here I describe a few ways to do this in either direction with hyper-v and gnome-boxes (qemu/spice).

Thought I'd post a followup on this since it's had a lot of hits, and since Windows updates seems to enjoy wiping out hyper-v external virtual switches these days. If you have an extra Linux machine you can avoid this MS nuisance. With all the things I connect on WIFI I got sick of having to delete and reconfigure the switches in Windows. I now use the method in the link below:
