Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Dookus - 07-20-2014 Is there a way to set "No confirmation" when deleting, or a way to "One click delete" an item? Thanks Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - JmaCWQ - 07-21-2014 I'd like to know if this can be done too. You can Shift+Delete then hit Enter when inside a folder for a quicker way than right clicking etc.. Seems we can't Shift+Delete folders from the desktop though, only right clicking will work for them, though files on the desktop can be Shift+Deleted with no confirmation. Off Topic: Another one I'd like to see eventually is the ability to right click on a desktop folder and paste into it without having to open it first. Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Scott(0) - 07-22-2014 @Dookus I've been testing this in LL108 and I can't seem to get a delete confirmation in Thunar. Everything I delete just gets moved to the Trash, no delete prompt. I have an idea how to solve the problem but want to create the problem first so it can be tested. Can you give me an example of deleting something that creates a prompt? Thanks. Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Dookus - 07-23-2014 It's LL2, every delete action creates the notification (link to image) http://tinyurl.com/o9uexaj Yes, this was not present on LL1X releases! Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Valtam - 07-23-2014 LL1X releases use a completely different version of XFCE. In LL2X XFCE 4.10+ file deletion is handled 2 ways. 1) Right click on the file, Move to Trash - no notification 2) Delete the file using your delete key or right click will ask if you are sure. Is there a way to get around this or 'hack' this implementation? I'm not sure, if you get your hands on the source code and you know what you're doing, you could find the code that handles this and compile your own Thunar. Perhaps you could contact the XFCE development team and make a suggestion or 2 ![]() In the meantime, you can make a shortcut of your own if you like - http://blogs.dailynews.com/click/2013/03/12/direct-delete-trash-xfces-thunar-file-manager/ Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Dookus - 07-23-2014 Thanks Valtam, I have been using "Delete > Enter" the reason I was hoping to have Thunar not ask confirmation is that I'm often in bed trying to tidy up a days work and using the mouse is awkward once I'm comfortable lying there I find it hard to use the Touchpad. Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Scott(0) - 07-23-2014 Well there goes my great idea ![]() Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Dookus - 07-23-2014 @ Valtam "1) Right click on the file, Move to Trash - no notification" because I am deleting files on a remote system, when using "Move to Trash" I still receive a notification warning me the file will be permanently deleted etc, so the above solution was exactly what I needed, Thanks J Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Valtam - 07-23-2014 Good stuff ![]() Re: Disable confirmation event when delete or one click delete? - Dookus - 07-24-2014 This worked for one time only, tried deleting the custom action, remaking it, but sadly it won't stick. |
