Shutdown kinda slow - T1125P - 07-20-2016 Hi all, I recently reinstalled LL 1.0.6 on my netbook. Now for some reason the shutdown seems a bit slower even though I'm using an SSD drive. I read that you can use the terminal to shut down almost instanly using: sudo poweroff -f This is a forced shutdown but I want to know is this safe to use over time? Also is it possible to make this a script and add it to the menu where it says logoff? I would love to just have a shutdown button there ![]() Thanks. Re: Shutdown kinda slow - T1125P - 07-26-2016 What I'm trying to say is, I would like to put a button that has the poweroff -f command in my start menu, right where it says turn off computer, without having to use my password. Re: Shutdown kinda slow - JmaCWQ - 07-29-2016 Not sure if it can be done in LL 1.0.6, but have you tried adding a launcher to the panel & editing it's properties so the shutdown command is run when it's clicked? Re: Shutdown kinda slow - T1125P - 08-19-2016 Hello sorry for the late reply, I will try your suggestion out and see how it goes ^_^ |
