Re: networking question - rbagwell - 04-22-2015 Thank you gentlemen. The first step in the suggested tutorial is to place stuff in a folder that you want to share in a created folder. What I believe to be a far better idea is what may be done in all Windows operating systems - make drives available to any or all computers on a LAN for searching or editing any file - in short all drives on a network available for use by all computers as though they were local . For my purposes the usability of such a system is infinitely greater than the one offered - It is easier to simply use another system . Thanks anyway - It seems a bit curious to me that Linux Lite can easily be configured to see and use drives on Windows systems on your LAN but NOT on other LL systems . Re: networking question - Wirezfree - 04-23-2015 Hi, The concept of drives does not apply in Linux in the same way as windows. The tutorial shows you an example on how to create and share a folder, once you see how that works you can then see how how to share other folders. I have have 5 LL PC's, I can access common folders across them all. It works exactly the same as Windows, except you don't share c:\ or d:\ you share for example your \documents folder on each PC to be able to copy\move\edit files |
