  Non-trivial RDP sessions
Posted by: supp0rtmail - 12-19-2022, 07:57 AM - Forum: Other - No Replies

Hi all!

Here an idea came to mind, but I have not yet understood whether it can be implemented and how.

There is a PC with linux lite 3.8-32bit and two outputs for monitors (vga, hdmi), keyboards (scanners in keyboard mode), mice, monitors, also in the amount of two pieces, freerdp is configured. I would like to start two freerdp sessions at system startup and authorize two different users on the terminal server under Windows (there is no problem with this, you can write a script), but the main catch is that each session opens on its own monitor and only with its own a set of keyboard and mouse, for good, there was a binding to the USB port, and not to the device, so that in which case it was possible to hot-swap the device. If anyone had experience with similar implementations or can give good advice, I will be glad to help.

Stacer - System cleaner and optimizer
Posted by: pilpintu - 12-18-2022, 06:01 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (1)

Hello everyone! I was looking for an alternative to CCleaner - which I use to clean my school Windows computers - and came across Stacer. Really impressive, beautiful interface, and it's available in the LinuxLite repos. Here's the main screen before using it:

And here are the same indicators after running Stacer:

Pretty impressive, considering that I have been using my fresh LinuxLite install for just about a week!

Have a nice Sunday!

Unable to boot live, use compatibility mode or do a direct install.
Posted by: deejaypg1 - 12-16-2022, 06:36 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - No Replies

Hi, i'm having a bit of a issue installing or running live session of Linux Lite 6.2, when i choose any of the 3 options Live, Compatibility Mode or do a Direct Install.
Straight after i select one of the options i get a black screen with a blinking "_" cursor.

I'm running:
CPU: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 631 supporting HT Technology, 2M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB (It supports 64bit)
RAM:2gb.

The funny thing is when booting into MX Linux 21.2.1 (64bit) it boots up completely fine.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated  Smile

Edit: Linux Lite 5.8 is booting fine thou. mmmm might be problem with kernel?

Thunderbird disaster upgrade 91 to 102
Posted by: rdesalis - 12-16-2022, 02:13 AM - Forum: Installing Software - Replies (1)

Any ideas if the linux lite repository permits a re-install of thunderbird 91.x.x, rather than
accepting tbird 102?

No flatpaks, no snaps, just a .deb file.

I have backups of all the user stuff, and I could at a push, got back to the last ISO,
but I would really like to avoid that.....

Many Thanks for reading this far
